A decade into its journey, Karma Automotive celebrates its milestone anniversary with the grand debut of Gyesera, a splendid evolution stemming from the GSe-6, the fully electric sensation unveiled back in 2021. Reminiscent of its predecessors, Gyesera inherits a dash of the design legacy from the plug-in hybrid Revero of 2016, which itself succeeded the short-lived Fisker Karma of 2011.

However, Gyesera aspires to transcend the mere echoes of its lineage. Marques McCammon, the visionary President of Karma, shared with Automotive News that nearly every body panel has been reimagined, with only a fraction of the rear quarter panels retaining their familiarity. Yet, the essence of its styling retains a comforting familiarity. Crafted from a marriage of aluminum and carbon fiber atop an aluminum spaceframe chassis, Gyesera stands as a testament to modern engineering prowess.

McCannon proudly reveals that about 85 percent of the car has undergone transformative changes. Michelle Christensen, the dynamic Vice President of Global Design at Karma, boldly proclaims it as “the most badass GT on the road.” Sizing up at 199.9 inches in length, 78.9 inches in width, and 52.4 inches in height, with a wheelbase stretching 124.4 inches, Gyesera dwarfs its competition. Compared to the Tesla Model S, it boasts an extra 3.9 inches in length and 1.6 inches in width while maintaining a ground-hugging stance that’s 4.5 inches closer to the earth.

Powering this rear-wheel-drive marvel is a forceful 590-horsepower engine, coupled with a staggering 693 pound-feet of torque, propelling Gyesera from 0 to 60 mph in under 4.2 seconds, with a top speed eclipsing 135 mph. However, these figures remain provisional, subject to fine-tuning as production nears. A robust 120.0-kilowatt-hour battery pack promises over 250 miles of exhilarating journeys, albeit contingent upon real-world conditions.

Anticipating a production kickstart by year’s end, Karma Automotive entertains the possibility of an early 2025 market entrance. Yet, Gyesera will grace the streets in limited numbers, with only approximately 2,000 units slated for production over a span of four to five years—a testament to its exclusivity and desirability.
