Subaru is celebrating 50 years of making vehicles with all-wheel drive with a special Forester that is only available in Japan. The XT-Edition is the first JDM model to be painted Geyser Blue, which was first introduced in North America. It features all-season tires and 18-inch wheels finished in a dark metallic finish, and it is based on the local Sport trim level.

Black accents on the roof rails, side mirror caps, and frame of the front grille of the 2024 Forester XT-Edition distinguish it visually. The fog lights and roof spoiler now have a darker appearance, and some of the bumpers have been darkened as well. Subaru has installed a fabric seat upholstery and a water-resistant cargo floor (with rails) to emphasize the outdoorsy nature of the SUV.

The Forester in XT-Edition is standard with EyeSight Safety Plus, which includes a digital rearview camera, based on the facelifted model that was introduced in the Land of the Rising Sun in the middle of 2021. Subie has embellished the cabin with silver stitching on the seats, dashboard, and door cards, as well as a metallic finish on the door cards and air vents.

The XT-Edition is based on the JDM-spec Forester Sport and features a gasoline turbocharged 1.8-liter engine with 300 Newton-meters (221 pound-feet) of torque at 1,600 rpm and 174 horsepower (130 kilowatts) at 5,200 rpm. Yield is directed to both front and back axles by means of a persistently factor transmission (CVT) otherwise known as Lineartronic.
