Buzz GTX, however, it’s worth noting that the ID.4/ID.5 GTX models have 339 pound-feet (460 Newton-meters) of torque. The ID. Buzz GTX will feature dual motors and all-wheel drive, and will be released later this year. The electric minivan will also have exclusive colors and a distinct interior design, as well as additional features.
According to Kai Gruenitz, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is also considering a non-GTX dual-motor model. In fact, the presentation that was mentioned earlier also had a teaser for a long-wheelbase, all-wheel-drive configuration. The long-wheelbase model will be the only one offered in the United States when the ID. Buzz goes on sale in 2024. It will have a larger battery pack than the standard-wheelbase, rear-wheel-drive model.
The source has shared that the longer ID. Buzz will be stretched by 250 millimeters (9.8 inches) and will have a three-row layout with seven seats that can be removed from the back. The longer ID. Buzz will also feature Captain’s chairs that can turn around. This model is already on sale in Europe in passenger and cargo configurations and measures 4,712 mm (185.5 inches).
Gruenitz also confirmed that a California-badged camper is in development, but it will not be released until 2025. Volkswagen plans to expand its electric car portfolio later this year with the ID.7 and an ID.3 GTX, which will arrive with the compact car’s already announced facelift. The company is also working on an Atlas-sized ID.8 and a flagship Trinity.
