Standard equipment includes a dual-level onboard charger compatible with 240-volt outlets, replenishing the Escalade’s range at a rate of 14.8 miles per hour with a 7.7 kW output. Rough calculations suggest a full charge from 0 to 100 percent could take around 30 hours. Furthermore, the IQ can guzzle up to 19.2 kW from AC power; using a 240-volt outlet dishing out such power, the SUV will be back to full charge in approximately 13 hours, adding around 37 miles of range per hour.

Powering the Escalade IQ’s wheels are dual permanent-magnet motors, offering a standard all-wheel drive configuration. These motors churn out 680 horsepower and a formidable 615 pound-feet of torque in the SUV’s regular drive mode. Engage the Velocity Max mode, and the figures skyrocket to a jaw-dropping 750 hp and 785 lb-ft, propelling the ’Slade to 60 mph in a heart-pounding sub-5-second dash. As for towing capability, Cadillac estimates a substantial 8,000-pound haul. The IQ comes outfitted with one-pedal driving and adjustable brake regeneration, complemented by a heat pump integrated into the five-zone automatic climate control system, which smartly trims down energy consumption.

Much like its close relatives, the GMC Hummer and Chevrolet Silverado EVs, the Escalade IQ is bestowed with four-wheel steering, a feature enriched with a unique low-speed diagonal driving mode known as Cadillac Arrival Mode. Enthusiasts can revel in the air suspension and magnetic dampers, enabling the Escalade to hunker down by up to 2 inches for enhanced aerodynamics or lift itself by an inch to clear obstacles. A cherry on top of this technological marvel is the vehicle-to-home (V2H) functionality embedded within its bi-directional charging setup, allowing proud owners to draw power directly from their rides via a home charger when installed correctly.
