We were made aware of a rather intriguing rumor earlier this month. A report from Sources guaranteed General Engines is wanting to lay out the Escalade and Camaro as independent sub-brands with their own models. In addition to the current Escalade luxury SUV, it is rumored that a minivan and a smaller three-row crossover will be added to the lineup. Based on this intriguing rumor, our coworkers at Kolesa.ru created this exclusive rendering of an MPV bearing the Escalade brand.

To be honest, this initial and speculative look at the Escalade minivan doesn’t look bad. The large grille on the Escalade’s front fascia seems to go well with the overall boxy design of modern MPVs. Even more so when you take into consideration the latest generation of luxury minivans designed specifically for the Chinese market by both domestic and international automakers, such as the Trumpchi M8 and Zeekr 009.

In relation to the expanding minivan market in the People’s Republic, it is believed that if Escalade develops into a distinct sub-brand, its large family vehicle will be made and designed specifically for the Chinese market. There, luxury minivans from Buick and Lexus are currently available, and there is also a lot of competition from domestic brands.

Sadly, there isn’t much information available right now, so we can only guess about the Escalade minivan. A rebranded version of the recently introduced Buick GL8 Century, a large MPV with Maybach-level legroom, Bose speakers integrated into the headrests, and sliding rear doors, appears to be one very plausible scenario. In theory, the Escalade-branded sibling could be introduced in China as a sportier, slightly more affordable alternative to the GL8.
