The SEMA Show this year may have missed the Ram 2500 concept, but truck enthusiasts weren’t left wanting for excitement, thanks to the 2023 Ford Shelby F-250 Super Baja. It’s a high-performance beast that’s about as close as you can get to a Raptor version of the F-250.
Now, let’s talk suspension – a vital component for any Baja-branded vehicle. The Fox Factory’s Performance Vehicle Development team has worked its magic to give the Super Baja a whole new ride. With a custom BDS lift system, they’ve cranked up the ride height, expanded the travel, and enhanced off-road handling. Compared to its 2021 predecessor, the latest Super Baja boasts larger 20-inch alloy wheels, still shod with trusty 37-inch BFGoodrich tires.
The front end showcases a brand new Raptor-inspired grille bearing the unmistakable “Shelby” wordmark. Just above it, you’ll spot a functional air induction hood with an extraction vent. Below the grille, a rugged powder-coated steel bumper adds to the off-road cred. The truck also boasts LED lighting, painted fender flares, XL power steps equipped with rock sliders and lights, and powder-coated exhaust tips, among other rugged features.
Stepping inside, the Super Baja’s cabin is a haven for truck enthusiasts. Each vehicle comes adorned with Shelby Super Baja badges and a CSM serialized plate. And here’s a tech tidbit – the Ford Super Duty proudly claims the title of being the first pickup in the US to offer 5G Wi-Fi capability.
Under the hood, you’ll find the trusty 6.7-liter Power Stroke turbodiesel engine, churning out a hefty 475 horsepower and a jaw-dropping 1,050 lb-ft of torque. All that power is efficiently distributed to all four wheels through a meticulously crafted in-house 10-speed TorqShift automatic transmission.
