Latest Update: 2024 Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR is expected to arrive in early 2024.
The highly anticipated 2024 Range Rover Sport SVR is in the works and has been spotted by spy photographers during winter testing. With warmer temperatures on the horizon, Land Rover is putting the finishing touches on the performance SUV ahead of its anticipated debut this year.
Despite the approaching spring, the automaker is still keeping the vehicle under wraps, with more camouflage than previously seen in other spy photos. However, it’s clear that the SVR will sport a more aggressive front bumper and other unique styling features that set it apart from the regular Sport. The back of the SUV also features round quad tailpipes, unlike the trapezoidal ones spotted on other examples.
Inside the SVR, there likely won’t be any surprises. The cabin will likely feature a 13.7-inch digital instrument cluster for the driver, along with a 13.1-inch infotainment screen in the dash for the front passenger.
While Land Rover has yet to confirm the engine that will power the Sport SVR, rumors suggest that the company will borrow from BMW, utilizing the twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 found in the BMW X5 M. In the Competition trim, this engine delivers an impressive 615 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque, though it’s unclear how it will perform in the Land Rover. It’s possible that it could be tuned to produce even more power.
Built on the brand’s MLA-Flex platform, which also underpins the rest of the Range Rover lineup, the Sport SVR will offer rear-wheel steering and air suspension. Positioned at the top of the Sport lineup, the SVR will undoubtedly outperform the base 355-hp inline-six and 523-hp V8 models. Car enthusiasts eagerly await the vehicle’s debut and the opportunity to put it through its paces.
