In addition to the MX-30, Martijn ten Brink did not rule out the possibility of incorporating the range-extending rotary engine into other models. He explained that the CX-30 and the 3 both run on the same platform, so they can handle the unusual plug-in hybrid setup.
Mazda predicts that electric vehicles will account for 40-70% of annual sales by the decade’s end. Given that the MX-30 is the company’s only EV at the moment, that is a lofty objective.
